A Tornado Watch is in effect for portions of South-central/Southeast New York and Northeast Pennsylvania until 5:00 am Monday morning.

   The NWS Storm Prediction Center has issued a

   * Tornado Watch for portions of 
     South-central/Southeast New York
     Northeast Pennsylvania

   * Effective this Sunday night and Monday morning from 955 PM
     until 500 AM EDT.

   * Primary threats include...
     A couple tornadoes possible
     Scattered damaging wind gusts to 70 mph possible

   SUMMARY...Multiple rounds of fast-moving storms will spread
   northeastward across the region through the overnight. Damaging
   winds will be the most common hazard, but a tornado or two could
   occur with line-embedded circulations.

   The tornado watch area is approximately along and 45 statute miles
   north and south of a line from 40 miles northwest of Elmira NY to 10
   miles north of Monticello NY. For a complete depiction of the watch

   REMEMBER...A Tornado Watch means conditions are favorable for
   tornadoes and severe thunderstorms in and close to the watch
   area. Persons in these areas should be on the lookout for
   threatening weather conditions and listen for later statements
   and possible warnings.



   AVIATION...Tornadoes and a few severe thunderstorms with hail
   surface and aloft to 0.5 inches. Extreme turbulence and surface wind
   gusts to 60 knots. A few cumulonimbi with maximum tops to 450. Mean
   storm motion vector 21040.
