On Saturday, September 21, 2019 K9 Harley of the Allentown Police Department lost his brief and courageous battle with cancer.


Condolences go out to Officer Fegely and his family in addition to the Allentown Police Department and all those that had the opportunity to know K9 Harley.


Memorial Service:

The public is invited to attend a memorial service on Thursday, October 3, 2019 at the J.S. Burkholder’s Funeral Home located at 1601 W. Hamilton Street in Allentown. There will be a walk-through honoring K9 Harley from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.  A private memorial service will begin at 7:00 p.m.


About K9 Harley:

K9 Harley was a six-year veteran of the force. He was assigned to the department’s 2nd platoon for the entire length of his career which began in 2013.   Officer Andrew Fegely was K9 Harley’s handler and partner.  Both were inseparable.

Officer Fegely and K9 Harley conducted hundreds of demonstrations and interactions with schools and community groups.  K9 Harley also received numerous awards and recognition throughout his career and was part of numerous criminal apprehensions and drug seizures in the city and nearby jurisdictions.



Parking for the memorial service:

Those attending the memorial service are permitted to utilize the parking lot of the Scottish Rite Cathedral at 1533 W. Hamilton Street.  Attendees are advised to access this lot via Fulton Street as N. 16th Street will be closed between Hamilton Street and Linden Street from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.



Donations are being accepted by the “Allentown Police K9 Fund” and will be used for the completion of a memorial designed to honor all K9 units that have passed.
