Today is the first day of Spring otherwise known as the spring equinox or vernal equinox in the Northern Hemisphere. Equinox comes from the Latin words for “equal night”.  Spring occurs at 5:58 pm EDT.  Tonight is also the third and final Supermoon of 2019. It’s called the Full Worm Moon.

The moon becomes full a few hours after the spring equinox.  The moon at that time will appear bigger and brighter than regular full moons.  It’s a wonderful way to welcome Spring!
