There will be a 52-hour closure scheduled this weekend at Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE).

From Saturday, May 4th starting at 12:00 am until Monday, May 6th at 4:00 am there will be no takeoffs or landings of commercial airlines or general aviation aircraft on those days as part of a $80 million Rehabilitation Project of Runway 6-24.

Runway 6-24 is the primary runway at LVIA and during this time, no aircraft will be allowed to utilize any movement area surfaces due to the heavy construction traffic that will require the use of taxiways as active haul routes according to the press release.

Rental car operations will continue along with Trans-Bridge and Lanta Bus service.  Airline counters will also be open and the United Bus to Newark is running.
