Many are gearing up for the traditional Regional Opening Day of Trout Season in Pennsylvania . It starts at 8:00 am tomorrow (Saturday), March 30th.

For months, the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC) has been stocking waterways with approximately y 3.2 million adult trout.  They’ve been stocking lakes and creeks with brook, brown and rainbow trout.

Anglers from across the 18 Southeastern and South Central counties of the state are getting prepared for a day of trout fishing tomorrow.

Counties that are part of Regional Opening Day include Adams, Berks, Bucks, Chester, Cumberland, Dauphin, Delaware, Franklin, Juniata, Lancaster, Lebanon, Lehigh, Montgomery, Northampton, Perry, Philadelphia, Schuylkill and York counties.

In addition to the 18 Southeastern counties, there are additional streams on county borders included in the Regional Opening Day. They are Mahantango Creek, between Northumberland and Dauphin counties; West Branch Mahantango Creek, between Snyder and Juniata counties; and Lizard Creek and Mahoning Creek in Carbon County. These are the only border streams that are part of the Regional Opening Day.

Statewide Opening Day is Saturday, April 13, 2019.
