Important information on Fireworks and pets:

You can protect your pet from the stress associated with fireworks by keeping your pet indoors. Close the blinds or curtains and turn on the TV or radio to provide some distraction from the noise.

A quiet place, such as a carrier or crate may provide your pet with a sense of security and comfort. If you do go outside, keep them on a leash so they don’t run off, which is a common response to stress and fear.

Practice fire safety and by keeping your pet away from open fires, matches, and fireworks. Pets may try to eat or sniff fireworks and pet hair can easily catch on fire if they are too close.

Take your pet for a walk before the fireworks begin. Some pets are too frightened to go out once the fireworks start. Make sure your pet’s ID is current just in case they do get lost or escape. You should also have your pet micro-chipped. –
