Today at 1:00 pm, Lehigh County Executive Phil Armstrong held a press conference declaring a State of Emergency for Lehigh County amidst the spread of the COVID-19 virus.  Media gathered as Armstrong spoke on the pandemic, urging residents to stay home if sick and to avoid social gatherings.

The following information was announced at today’s press conference:

“We must take a proactive stance in combating the unknowns of this disease.” Said Armstrong.

If you have non-urgent business with Lehigh County that can be delayed, please delay it. However, if there is urgent business that needs to be addressed, Lehigh County will advise the public on how to conduct business with the county in the near future.

The decision was made with the health and safety of Lehigh County residents in mind.
