It’s always a sign of Spring when the nation’s largest and longest-running horticultural event begins. The PHS Philadelphia Flower Show starts today and runs through March 8th.  It features beautiful displays by world premier floral and landscape designers.  This year’s theme is “Riviera Holiday”.

The show was started in 1829 by the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society.  According to its history, it introduces the newest plant varieties, garden and design concepts, and organic and sustainable practices.   You will find world-renowned competitions in horticulture, floral arranging, gardening presentations and special events.   Throughout the show you will find mobile “Pop Up” moments that will make the displays come to life.  For example, one display will illustrate how to make jewelry from materials found in nature.  For foodie and horticulture lovers, there will be a new event daily called, The Bloomin’ Brunch.

Today is also the Show’s opening night dance party and everyone is invited to dance among the gardens at Flowers After Hours once the Show closes.  The dance party theme is “Let’s Dance”.

If you enjoy flowers you will be sure to enjoy the Philadelphia Flower Show!
