Celebrate the history of Queen City Airport today with a FREE Family event.
Hosted by Lehigh Valley International Airport
From 4:00 – 10:00 pm today, Queen City Airport will be holding a FREE Family event to commemorate the history of the airport. It is the 75th Anniversary of a the airport that once was a training facility for fighter pilots in World War II.
The opening ceremony is at 4:30 pm. There will be food trucks, a beer garden, helicopter and airplane rides, a Mack Trucks display, kid zone with rides and games, Flying Forties Antique & Classic Car Show, Emergency Response Vehicles, Historical Vehicles & Static Aircraft Displays and live entertainment by the Swing Time Dolls. Plus, at 9:00 pm there will be fireworks.
The Airport Authority will recognize and honor veterans of World War II in attendance, while also highlighting the rich aviation history of XLL in the Lehigh Valley.
Pricing for the helicopter and airplane rides:
($40 per person, 2-3 people per ride)
