The U.S. Geological Survey confirmed a 2.2 magnitude earthquake Friday afternoon in Berks County.

The Berks County Department of Emergency Services posted on their facebook page that they were aware of an explosion or earthquake in the Wyomissing area and to not call 911 unless there was an emergency to report.  They were overwhelmed with callers reporting loud noise and it prevented callers from getting through with real emergencies.

The 2.2 magnitude quake was confirmed by the USGS in Spring Ridge, Pennsylvania just after 1:10 pm.
