Bethlehem police issued a public safety alert Monday “about swimming bare … I mean ‘a swimming bear”.
Early Sunday morning there was a visitor in the area of Cloverleaf Street and Melrose Avenue in Bethlehem, PA.
According to the Bethlehem Police Department this interesting tourist was going through the yards and decided to take a dip in a nearby swimming pool.
The incident was reported and the bear was corralled by Bethlehem Police Offices and Pennsylvania Game commission officers. He was then tranquilized. He was never injured during this incident.
He was then transported to North Central Pennsylvania where there are hundreds of acres of woodland and swamps for the young bear to roam and swim in.
Thank you to the Bethlehem Police Department and Pennsylvania Game Commission for a job well done.
