At 6:30 am this morning Lehigh County Hazmat crews responded to a minor chlorine leak at the Colonial Crest Water Treatment Facility in Upper Saucon Township.
Hazmat officials notified the township there was no threat to the safety or health of the public and that the water quality was unaffected. As a precaution, residents in the immediate vicinity of the treatment facility were evacuated.
Residents in the Colonial Crest Subdivision also known as Ponds Edge were requested to shelter in place. School Bus stops this morning were held at Gun Club Road and White Oak Drive and Gun Club Road and Red Oak Drive.
At 9:45 am Lehigh County Hazmat gave an all clear for residents to return to their homes.
