The hiker who was missing on the Appalachian Trail was found dead this morning according to state police.

Michael William Kaiser, age 56 of Bucks County entered the Appalachian Trail at Route 309/Appalachian Trail in Lynn Township on Friday, October 11, 2019 according to a news release from the state police. On October 12th, Michael was in communication via cell phone to his brother in which he took a photo of a terrain similar to that of Bake Oven Knob.  Since that time no one had heard from him.

His brother reported him missing on October 15th to the Bristol Townsnhip (Bucks County)  police department and this morning many set out searching for him.

At approximately 12:30 pm on October 17th, Michael William Kaiser was discovered deceased in the area of Bear Rocks approximately 30 feet down an embankment.

The National Park Service in addition to the following departments helped with the investigation.  There is no danger to the public.
