A fire destroyed the Broad Street Market’s brick building located in Harrisburg, PA.

Harrisburg Fire Chief Brian Enterline stated that the fire was caused by a malfunctioned ceiling fan, during a press conference Monday afternoon, after the fire.

A press conference was held outside by Gov. Josh Shapiro and other officials. They vowed to provide state funding to help rebuild the lost property.

Although residents will miss this historic building, many look forward to much-needed updates like central air conditioning.

The initial phase of the city's vendor relocation plan is underway, starting with an open expanse of grassy land located nearby the remaining brick structure. According to officials, within a matter of weeks, this designated area will be prepared for business owners to establish their shops temporarily as the reconstruction efforts progress.
