25-year-old man killed in Allentown's Fountain Park identified

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh County Coroner's Office has released the name of the man killed during a shooting over the weekend at Fountain Park in Allentown. 


The victim is identified as 25-year-old Angel Martinez-Velez.


He was pronounced dead on the scene in the 900 Block of Martin Luther King Jr. Drive at 7:17 pm, according to the Lehigh County coroner. In less than an hour, he had succumbed to his wounds, according to the Lehigh County Coroner's office.

An autopsy was completed Monday morning. The cause of death is multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was ruled a homicide. 


There is a growing memorial at the site, according to WFMZ News. He also had a girlfriend and a baby, according to the Channel 69 news report.


This incident is being investigated by the Allentown Police Department, the Lehigh County District Attorney’s Homicide Task Force, and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office.
