ALLENTOWN, PA - A 32-year-old inmate of the Lehigh County Jail was found unresponsive in his cell on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 2:12 pm.
Staff immediately declared a medical emergency and began administering CPR, according to the press release.
Medical personnel assisted with lifesaving efforts on-site and EMS was called and upon arrival at the facility took over the scene.
The inmate, Arturo Wright, was taken by ambulance to St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus, where he was pronounced deceased at 2:50 pm, according to the media release.
According to the Lehigh County Coroner, the manner of death is ruled a suicide.
Wright was admitted to Lehigh County Jail on August 25th, 2024, on local charges, according to the press release.
