57-year-old man dies after hitting deer in Lowhill Township

LOWHILL TWP., Pa - Another fatal motorcycle accident occurred today, this time in Lowhill Township.


Pennsylvania State Police responded to a motorcycle crash in the 3000 Block of Route 100, in the vicinity of Windy Road at approximately 5:20 am Wednesday.


Upon investigation, it was determined a 2022 Harley Davidson motorcycle, operated by a 57-year-old man collided with a deer and the motorcycle operator suffered fatal injuries.


According to Lehigh County Coroner Daniel Buglio, Donald E. Guldin of Lower Macungie Township was the driver of the motorcycle that struck a deer.



Guldin was pronounced dead on the scene at 6:04 am. The accident took place at approximately 5:00 am, according to the coroner.


The cause of death is blunt force trauma to the head and his manner of death was ruled an accident, according to Buglio.


State Route 100 Northbound was closed during this investigation and State Route 100.


Southbound was utilized for traffic to travel both north and south during this investigation.


The roadway reopened at 8:12 am.


Assisting at the scene were Troop M Forensic Services Unit, Lehigh County Coroners Office,

Fogelsville Fire Department and Cetronia Emergency Medical Services.


In addition to the coroner's office, the Pennsylvania State Police, Bethlehem Station is

investigating.
