A portion of Union Boulevard remains closed due to fatal hit-and-run investigation

ALLENTOWN, Pa. -


Update - An 85-year-old man was pronounced dead, at 8:33 a.m., according to the Lehigh County Coroner. He has been identified, but his name is not being released at this time allowing time for next of kin to be notified and family to grieve privately during this tragic time.


A portion of Union Boulevard in Allentown remains closed due to a fatal hit-and-run investigation. Allentown Police says that Union Boulevard was closed from Kiowa Street to Jasper Street.


According to Lehigh County Communications, a coroner had been called to the scene.



Allentown Police confirmed it was a male victim and the victim was hit just after 7 am this morning.


Accident reconstruction is currently on the scene and Union Boulevard will be closed until the reconstruction is complete.



According to Allentown Police, more information will be released as it is available.
