ALLENTOWN, Pa - According to a social media post by Mayor Tuerk of Allentown, the fire on Hamilton Street in Allentown was almost knocked down late Monday evening where plumes of smoke had been visible from miles away.
According to a WFMZ news report, officials say three buildings caught fire in the 1100 block of Hamilton Street with a total of five buildings being affected.
WFMZ says about 20 people have been displaced.
Five firefighters and one civilian were sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The fire was reported just after 5:30 p.m. and went to three alarms.
At around 6:15 pm, firefighters were ordered evacuated from the buildings, according to emergency dispatchers.

Mayor Tuerk said the best thing people can do right now is give space to their team to clean up, thank a first responder, and be safe.
According to Mayor Tuerk, more details on how you can help those displaced by this evening's fire will be announced.
Officials say they are still investigating the cause, as well as the point of origin among the three buildings that went up in flames.
