Allentown Police Department to receive over $900K in funding for new police cruisers, critical technology upgrades

ALLENTOWN, Pa - U.S. Senator Bob Casey and U.S. Congresswoman Susan Wild announced Tuesday that the Allentown Police Department will receive $963,000 in federal community public funding.


According to the announcement, this investment will allow the police force to acquire new police cruisers and critical technology upgrades.

The new technology will not only streamline crime scene processing but also reduce the risk of officer injuries when testing and processing illegal drugs, according to the announcement.


The money comes from what's called the "FEND Off Fentanyl Act."
