Allentown to hold Police Commendation Awards Ceremony, public invited

ALLENTOWN, Pa - In observance of National Police Week, the City of Allentown will hold a Police Commendation Awards Ceremony on Wednesday, May 15.


The ceremony will be held at Scottish Rite Cathedral in Allentown and start at 10:00 am.


Scottish Rite Cathedral is located at 1533 West Hamilton Street.


The community is invited to attend this special event.



During this ceremony, members of the Allentown Police Department and citizens of the community will receive awards, as approved by the Commendation Committee.


"School Safety Patrols of the Year" will also be awarded.

 

Following the ceremony, you are invited to attend a brief memorial service in the courtyard, where they will lay a wreath in honor of departed officers.

 

National Police Week occurs every May and honors the men and women of America’s law enforcement community. This year, National Police Week is observed from May 12 to May 18. This time also serves to pay special recognition to those who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.
