ArtsQuest opens new interactive and sensory art exhibit for all ages

Bethlehem PA - ArtsQuest opened a new art exhibit called Bear In Mind which is both interactive and sensory-friendly to all ages.

From now through April 7 2024, Bear In Mind will take place in the Crayola Gallery at The Banana Factory.

"Exhibitions like Bear In Mind help to increase access to the arts for people of all ages in our communities. We also encourage engagement with our "Touch Collection" of artwork and musical instruments intended to promote self-exploration and relaxation." Says Lisa Harms, the Senior Director Arts and Education at ArtsQuest.

ArtsQuest's all-accessible Arts Program offers calm and dimly lit environment spaces in these exhibits to assist in the well-being of students.

They have teen takeover after-school programs that help teens to become more mindful.

The artist behind it all is THECOLORG.

Bear In Mind has over 30 handmade memory bears that sit on top of swings. The "sentimental" piece symbolizes a "back-and-forth playfulness present in creative labor and recalling memories (the past) through materials to understand the present," - THECOLORG.

This inclusive experience is to serve as a reminder of Bethlehem's history of their production of steel and distribution of goods of which assisted in building a middle-class economy.

"Our personal histories are a map toward how we can work together to build a more equitable future."

Weekday hours run from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m while Saturdays are open from 8:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The artist will be at the exhibit on Friday, Feb. 2 for 'First Fridays' which begins at 6 p.m
