At least two people are dead after a small plane crashed onto a Florida highway Friday afternoon, according to authorities.
The aircraft crashed onto Interstate 75 near Naples around 3:15 p.m. ET, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.
According to officials in Florida, they say the aircraft took off from Ohio and was on approach to the Naples airport when the crash occurred on Interstate 75.
There are two confirmed fatalities in the crash, according to Collier County Sheriff's Office.
At least two vehicles were also involved, the Florida Highway Patrol confirmed.

The FAA says that five people were on board the plane and was a Bombardier Challenger 600 jet.

Southbound interstate lanes are currently closed and drivers are asked to avoid the area if possible.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the crash.
