Barn catches fire in Berks County Sunday afternoon

ALBANY TWP., Pa. — A fire that broke out in Albany Township, Berks County on Sunday afternoon is under investigation, according to WFMZ News.


The fire happened in the area of Route 737 and Turkey Road just before 4 p.m.


Smoke could be seen from miles away and roads in the area were temporarily closed.

At least a half dozen fire departments could be seen from both Berks and Lehigh counties, according to the news article.


According to Kempton Fire Company Lt. Owen King, no one was injured and the fire inspector is looking into the fire.


The article reported they were not able to save a large shop or the apartments behind it, but were able to save the large residence and the storage shed that were both exposed to the fire.
