Media Release -

On October 25, 2023 at 10:06 am, the Bethlehem Police Department received information that an adult male wanted on numerous charges was inside a residence in the 200 block of 11th Ave.

The male was identified as Brian George Lichtenwalner, 31 years old, of Bethlehem.

Lichtenwalner had multiple warrants for his arrest, including bench warrants from Monroe County for failure to appear on charges relating to disarming a law enforcement officer, and drug possession inside a prison. Lichtenwalner was also wanted for multiple DUI-related violations.

Police made numerous attempts throughout the late morning and afternoon to convince Lichtenwalner to exit the home and surrender to police. He continued to hide inside the home and made no attempt to speak with police or exit the home.

The Bethlehem Police Department’s Emergency Response Team served a search warrant on the residence and after an extended search of the home located Lichtenwalner hiding in a closet on the third floor.

Even after being contacted by police inside the home, he continued to resist efforts to be arrested.

Lichtenwalner was finally taken into custody by police just before 7 p.m.

Lichtenwalner will be housed at Lehigh County Jail pending extradition by Monroe County authorities on the arrest warrants. Additional charges are expected relating to the stand-off with police on today’s date.
