Charlie Colin, bassist and founding member of Train dies at 58

Charlie Colin, one of Train's founding members, has died from what appears to be a tragic accident, according to TMZ.

According to the musician's mother, Charlie passed away after he slipped and fell in the shower while house-sitting for a friend in Brussels, Belgium, but it's unclear exactly when he fell.

She told TMZ that no one found him until his friends returned home from their trip about 5 days ago.

Charlie had moved to Brussels to teach a music master class at a conservatory and was also working at a studio and finishing music for a film, according to the article.

As a bass player, he helped form the band in San Francisco in the mid-'90s and they achieved mainstream success with their self-titled debut album "Train" in 1998.

You may recognize some of their well-known hits. They include "Drops of Jupiter," "Meet Virginia," and "Hey, Soul Sister."

The band won 2 Grammy's in 2002, one for Best Rock Song and the other for Best Instrumental Arrangement Accompanying Vocalist(s).

Charlie left the band in 2003.

His mother has paid an emotional tribute to her son, calling him a beautiful human being.

Charlie was 58 years old.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones and fellow musicians.
