Coroner identifies couple found dead in apparent murder-suicide in Bethlehem

BETHLEHEM, Pa. -The Northampton County Coroner's Office has identified a husband and wife who were found deceased in what appears to be an apparent murder-suicide in their Bethlehem home on Saturday, August 3rd.


The couple lived in the 700 Block of Redfern Lane.


The couple was discovered by Bethlehem Police around 9:45 a.m. when they visited the home to conduct a welfare check.



According to the coroner, 78-year-old Celeste L. Kistler died as a result of a gunshot wound, and her manner of death was ruled a homicide. Her husband, 80 year old Larry A. Kistler also died as a result of a gunshot wound, but his manner of death was ruled a suicide.


The Coroner's Office will not be releasing any additional information at this time.
