Coroner's office releases name of motorcyclist killed in the multi-vehicle crash on I-78 Wednesday

ALLENTOWN, Pa. - The Lehigh County Coroner's Office has released the name of the motorcyclist killed in a multi-vehicle crash on I-78 on Wednesday. 


The crash happened Wednesday in the EB lanes near Summit Lawn around 11:45 a.m. 


The coroner's office reported that 30-year-old Edgar Guadarrama Jaimes of Upper Saucon Township was pronounced dead at the scene just before 1:30 p.m.

The cause of death is multiple traumatic injuries due to a motorcycle/motor vehicle collision, according to the coroner. 


The crash involved a tractor-trailer, a motorcycle, and a Honda Pilot.


A 42-year-old man who was driving the tractor-trailer and a 58-year-old man from Harleysville, who was driving the Honda Pilot, were not injured.


This crash remains under investigation.


Anyone who may have witnessed this crash or observed the vehicles prior to this crash is asked to contact PSP Fogelsville at (610) 395 – 1438 and reference Incident Number PA24-8350
