Crews respond to industrial fire in Easton

EASTON, Pa - Crews are responding to an industrial fire in Easton.


According to Northampton County dispatchers, the fire is at Mineral Technology, located at 640 North 13th Street.


The call came in around 10:50 pm Wednesday, according to dispatchers.

Dispatchers say there was a furnace explosion on the second floor.


According to comments left on Facebook, people heard the explosions. One person said they "thought it was gunshots at first."


The nearby Silk Mill is being evacuated, according to dispatchers.


According to the company website, the company is "the largest and global leader in providing precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) and ground calcium carbonate (GCC)…"
