Ford is recalling more than 1.5 million vehicles due to weak windshield wipers arms and porous brake hoses.
Nearly 1.3 million Ford Fusions and Lincoln MKX midsize cars made between 2013 and 2018 were recalled due to the latter issue.
In their official announcement, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the hose holding brake fluid for the front brakes in these cars had an increased chance of experiencing tears and rips. These leaks may be happening if the brake pedal feels different or with the illumination of the brake fluid warning indicator light.
These two risks will increase the risks of crashes, said the NHTSA.
Starting April 17, Ford dealerships will notify car owners, letting the consumers know they will replace the hoses. For the windshield wipers, owners will be notified starting March 27.
