ALLENTOWN, Pa - The Great Allentown Fair is only a week away and runs from Wednesday, August 28 through Labor Day Monday, September 2.
Starting this Wednesday, August 21 at 12 a.m., the Allentown Fairgrounds will close its gates to through traffic between Liberty and Chew Streets. This closure, covering the north and south borders of the grounds, is in preparation for the fair, according to a news release.
Patrons of the Ritz Barbecue along with anyone wanting to purchase Box Office tickets are asked to go to Gate 2 on Chew Street just west of 17th Street to enter onto the fairgrounds.
The fairgrounds will offer parking through Tuesday.

Tickets to the fair’s Grandstand shows, advance discount tickets for all day ride wristbands and half-price fair admission tickets will be available at Fair Box Office.
The Fair Box Office is located on the fairgrounds between the Ritz Barbecue and the Grandstand concert venue. Cash, Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express are accepted.
Box Office hours are 12-4 p.m. Wednesday through Friday this week.
Extended hours begin on Saturday and Sunday 12-3 p.m., Monday and Tuesday, 12-6 p.m.
On Wednesday, Opening Night August 28, Box Office hours will be 4 p.m.-9 p.m. and will remain open throughout fairweek from 12 p.m.-9 p.m. Labor Day Monday hours are 12 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Discount ride tickets are available through Tuesday, August 27; discount fair admission tickets are available through Wednesday, August 28.
Interested in Volunteering?
Volunteers need to be 18 years old or older for ushering. If you have family or friends who are 16-17, they can help with ticket taking but must have an adult with them.
