I-78 West closed in Northampton County due to accident involving two tractor-trailers

GLENDON, Pa - According to Northampton County dispatchers, two tractor-trailers collided and one is blocking both lanes of westbound traffic at mile marker 74.5 on I-78 in Northampton County.


At this time, the highway is closed westbound to the Route 33 interchange, according to dispatchers.


Dispatchers say the Westbound lanes are closed between Exit 3 in New Jersey and Morgan Hill Road Exit 75 in PA.

There are reports of a passenger vehicle involved as well.


The trucks struck and damaged a barrier alongside the road per the fire chief on the scene.


PennDOT is requested to the scene with a sand truck due to 1/4 mile of diesel residue on the road surface.


No injuries have been reported at this time.
