NORTH WHITEHALL TWP., Pa - Kernsville Road, which has been closed and detoured since May 1 for bridge repairs on the Kernsville Road Bridge over Jordan Creek, is expected to be closed until September 9, as per the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
The project was originally scheduled to be completed in August.
Work on this bridge includes steel repairs and replacement of the deck and beams on the two-span steel truss structure.
Vehicle traffic has been be detoured on PA 100, Hassadahl Road, and PA 309. The truck detour utilizes PA 100, Tilghman Street, and PA 309.
Grist Mill Road at the intersection with Kernsville Road is closed and detoured.
The detour utilizes Shankweiler Road and Woodlea Road.
H&K Group, Inc. of Skippack, PA is the general contractor on the $3,098,957 project.
