Lehigh County Coroner identifies 85-year-old man killed in fatal hit and run in Allentown

ALLENTOWN, PA -


The Lehigh County Coroner has identified the 85-year-old man who was hit and killed in Allentown on Thursday. The Coroner has identified him as Elian N. Makdsi.


Mr. Makdsi was struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Union Boulevard and North Jerome Street and pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 8:30 a.m.


The cause of death was determined as blunt force injuries due to a pedestrian/motor vehicle collision, according to the coroner's office. The manner of death was ruled an accident, according to the news release.


The Allentown Police Department and the Accident Reconstruction Team are investing, with assistance from the Lehigh County District Attorney's office.


They are still searching for the driver who hit and killed Mr. Makdsi and took off.
