HANOVER TOWNSHIP, Pa. - The Lehigh Valley International Airport (ABE) saw a surge of passenger traffic last month, culminating in the highest level on record for June.
98,589 passengers used ABE in June 2024, a 17.1% increase compared to June 2023's total of 84,192 passengers.
Additionally, ABE processed 18,759,997 pounds of air cargo, a 14.6% decrease from the 21,972,614 pounds processed last June.
Of ABE's airline partners, American Airlines saw an increase of passengers by 37.3%, Allegiant by 22.7%, and Delta by 1.7%. United's passengers decreased by 15.6% compared to June 2023.
“There’s been a noticeable jump in activity within the facility as the summer vacation season is in full swing," said Thomas R. Stoudt, Executive Director of the Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority (LNAA). "The record number of travelers reflects the growth of leisure destinations and excellent connectivity when choosing ABE. We appreciate the Airport staff and stakeholders that continue doing a fantastic job delivering first class customer service."

Give yourself extra time to process through the TSA Checkpoint
Visit TSA.gov or @askTSA with any general questions or to arrange travel with special circumstances
If you are traveling with children, double-check their carry-on bags to ensure there aren’t any prohibited items
Passengers under the age of 18 years-old do not need travel identification if accompanied by a companion
Boarding begins 30 to 45-minutes prior to departure
Checked bags will not be accepted less than 30-minutes before departure
