Liam Payne, former One Direction member dies at 31 after falling from third floor of his hotel room in Argentina

Former One Direction star Liam Payne died after falling from the third floor of his hotel room in Argentina, according to state police.

Payne was 31 years old and born on August 29, 1993 at New Cross Hospital in the Heath Town district of Wolverhampton, West Midlands, England. He was the son of Karen Payne, an infant nurse, and Geoff Payne, a fitter.

The English singer was staying at the Hotel CasaSur in Palermo, Buenos Aires, according to police.

According to Page Six, Liam Payne posted several videos to his Snapchat Story in the hours leading up to his shocking death.

In one of the since-deleted snaps, the “One Direction” alum told fans he was having a “lovely day” while spending time with girlfriend Kate Cassidy in Argentina.

The couple sat around a dining room table while enjoying different breakfast foods and discussing their plans for the rest of the day, which included polo and riding horses.

About the band, One Direction -

Payne joined One Direction at the group's inception in 2010 after appearing on the show "X Factor."

Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, and Louis Tomlinson were also part of the band.

Following the band's hiatus announcement in 2015, Payne ventured into a solo career, dropping the track "Strip That Down" in 2017 and the album "LP1" in 2019.

The singer shared a YouTube video in 2023 in which he revealed he had been sober for six months after spending nearly 100 days at a Louisiana rehab facility.

When he was 29, Payne said he had "more of a grip on life" now that he's taken time for himself after becoming "somebody who I didn't really recognize anymore."

The singer said he was channeling his energy into being a better dad for his son, Bear, who he shared with singer Cheryl Cole.

Harry Styles says he and his former One Direction bandmates have 'a very deep love for each other'

In March, Payne released the song, "Teardrops," which he said on Instagram was "born from many tears, not all mine." "I hope you love it like I do and not too many of you can relate," he added.

Early Life:

Payne was born prematurely and suffered from frequent illnesses, according to Wikipedia. From infancy until the age of four, Payne underwent regular hospital tests due to a scarred and dysfunctional kidney. To manage the pain, he received sixteen injections in the morning and another sixteen in the evening during his childhood.

During his student years, Payne was actively engaged in sports, especially cross-country running. He initially joined the Wolverhampton and Bilston Athletics Club to pursue his passion for running. For three consecutive years, he was among the top three 1500m runners in the country in his age category.

Payne has two older sisters, Nicola and Ruth Payne.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and loved ones.

This is a Developing story.

  • What's gonig on in the Lehigh Valley specializes in small business and event promotion for nearly 14 years. We are very creative with what we do and how we do it. There's a lot more to promotion than just posting a flyer. We believe in educating the public on your business, product, service etc. The better-informed people are, the more likely they are to make a decision to use that service, business, product etc. That's why we especially like doing a live broadcast (which can also be downloaded and used in articles, reels etc, and for you to keep) and in-person interviews. That way, we can "show " the Lehigh Valley your business. I call the complete package of what we do - articles, flyers, pinned posts, live broadcasts, and in-person interviews a "Business Showcase." We also suggest being in our exclusive Business Directory and we can offer discounts and specials for Followers and Subscribers - Display and Banner Advertising is available as well. That way people continue to see your business name over and over.
