Man dies in vehicle-tractor trailer collision in Upper Macungie Township

A passenger in a motor vehicle that collided with a tractor-trailer in Upper Macungie Township on Tuesday (Jan. 28) evening has passed away according to the Lehigh County Coroner's office has confirmed.
According to a statement from the office of Lehigh County Coroner Daniel A. Buglio, the accident took place in the area of SR 100 and Schaefer Run Road in Upper Macungie Township. The man was pronounced dead on the scene at 8:06 p.m.
The man, identified as John Doe in Buglio's statement, has been "tentatively identified," but the Lehigh County Coroner's Office & Forensic Center is actively working to confirm a positive identification and promptly located and notify next-of-kin, the statement added.
In addition to the LCCO&FC, the Upper Macungie Township Police Department and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office are also investigating.
