N. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - A couple in their 70's is dead In Lehigh County after a murder-suicide, according to authorities.
Harvey Hartung, 78, fatally shot his 79-year-old wife, Carol Hartung, at their North Whitehall Township home before taking his own life, according to Lehigh County coroner, Daniel Buglio.
The incident took place in their home on Saturday.
Both were pronounced dead in their home shortly after 11 p.m., according to the coroner.
Carol Hartung's death was ruled a homicide, while Harvey's death was ruled a suicide, the coroner said.
Pennsylvania State Police and the Lehigh County District Attorney's Office are investigating.
