Man who drowned in Delaware River over the weekend identified

EASTON, Pa - A 53-year-old man drowned in the Delaware River near Boileau Avenue in the City of Easton over the weekend.


According to the Northampton County Coroner, the man is identified as Gary M. Conley who resided in the 2200 Block of N Delaware Drive in Forks Township. 


Mr. Conley had been seated in a flotation tube when he entered the water for an unknown reason and did not return to the surface, according to the coroner. 



He was pulled to the shore by other individuals who started CPR, according to the media release. 


EMS transported him to St. Luke’s Hospital, Anderson Campus where he was resuscitated but despite medical intervention, died from complications from drowning on Sunday, June 7, 2024.


The manner of death is ruled accidental, according to the coroner's office.
