N. WHITEHALL TWP., Pa. - On Thursday, a ribbon-cutting ceremony took place at Lehigh Valley Zoo and members had the opportunity to meet the two new additions.
Cosmo and Meeko, two red pandas arrived from The Birmingham Zoo as part of a recommendation through The Association of Zoos and Aquariums' (AZA) Red Panda Species Survival Plan (SSP).
Cosmo and Meeko are both brothers. Cosmo is very outgoing and curious while Meeko is a bit shy and more reserved, according to the animal care team.

Dozens of donors helped raise the money needed to build the habitat.
Completion of the new habitat was made possible by the support of David, Patrina and Kian Rothrock.
$350,000 is the zoo's goal and as of 6 p.m. on Thursday, the zoo was just a few thousand dollars short of meeting it.

The zoo is offering early access to its members before their new exhibit opens to the public!
Members can come for Member Morning at 9 am on June 7 to enjoy an exclusive sneak peek at these adorable red pandas in their new habitat! Other guests can start to arrive at 10 am.
