National Ice Cream Day: The Battle Of The Flavors

It's National Ice Cream Day (July 21) and who doesn't love ice cream? Ice cream is a sweet treat that many have come to love and enjoy.

In 1984, President Ronald Regan declared the third Sunday of July as National Ice Cream Day and July as National Ice Cream Month.

Does your home state prefer classic flavors such as creamy vanilla with chocolate chunks and heaps of cookie dough, or perhaps rich chocolate ice cream swirled with peanut butter and marshmallow and filled with peanut butter cups? Maybe your state enjoys unique flavors like coffee, birthday cake, mango, or even pistachio.

Hands down, vanilla is the most purchased ice cream flavor in every state - accounting for more than a quarter (26.2%) of all ice cream sales in the U.S., according to Instacart.
