Pennsylvania woman drowns after being swept over a waterfall in Montana's Glacier National Park

WEST GLACIER, Mont. - A 26-year-old Pennsylvania woman tragically drowned after being swept over a waterfall in Glacier National Park, Montana.


The woman fell into the water above St. Mary Falls on Sunday and went down the 35-foot-tall waterfall.


Despite bystanders pulling her out and administering CPR until emergency responders arrived, she was pronounced deceased.



The victim's identity is being withheld until her family is notified.


The National Park Service has stated that drowning is one of the leading causes of death in Glacier National Park.


The incident is now under investigation.
