Plainfield Twp. Volunteer Fire Co. responds to crash on 33 NB early Sunday morning, stresses the importance of providing correct mile markers for providing critical aid

At roughly 2:14 am on Sunday, Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company received a dispatch for a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries at MM 10.0 on Rt 33 NB in Northampton County.

Upon arrival, crews at the MM were unable to locate the motor vehicle.

Subsequently, Pennsylvania State Police arrived at MM 7.1 for an automatic crash notification, according to the fire company.

Plainfield crews continued to the corrected MM and assisted the Palmer Municipal Fire Department.

33 NB was closed while crews worked at the scene.

As an important reminder, Plainfield Township Volunteer Fire Company said that they can’t stress the importance of providing the proper Mile Marker on State Highways and Interstates. Giving a location that is off by a few miles can delay critical aid.
