PALMER TWP., Pa. Police have identified the man who died in a motorcycle crash on Route 22 in Northampton County on Wednesday.
According to police, a motorcyclist appears to have been traveling east on RT 22, past 25th Street, at a high rate of speed just before 4 pm and came upon eastbound traffic that was either stopped or slowing to stop, due to congestion as a result of a prior RT 33 accident Investigation.

Police say the motorcyclist skidded, and lost control of his motorcycle, laying it down.
He along with his motorcycle (a blue-colored 2008 Harley Davidson) continued sliding on the roadway until the bike made impact with a box truck and he came to rest beneath a separate car.
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist had severe injuries and was pronounced dead by the Northampton County Coroner’s Office at St Luke's Anderson Campus, according to police.
He is identified as 59-year-old, David Walton of the 1000 block of Railroad Avenue in Phillipsburg, New Jersey.
There were no other injuries reported by any other motorists involved.
The Reconstruction Team investigated this accident.
Route 22 eastbound was originally closed from Rt 33 to 13th Street, then from 25th to 13th Street, until the investigation was completed and Route 22 eastbound was reopened at 7:45 pm.
Palmer Municipal Fire Department, Suburban EMS and the Northampton County Coroner’s Office assisted.
