Police seek driver who fled scene of fatal motorcycle crash Friday evening

TOBYHANNA, Pa. Police are seeking a driver who fled a fatal motorcycle crash Friday evening in Monroe County.


It happened Friday evening just before 11 pm in the area of Memorial Boulevard and Cayuga Drive in Tobyhanna.


Bystanders told police a vehicle hit a motorcycle and fled the scene.


According to a press release, the operator of the motorcycle was dead upon arrival of EMS.


Pocono Mountain Regional Police say the victim is identified as 26-year-old Anthony Rodriguez of Mount Pocono. 




An initial investigation indicates Rodriguez was traveling north on State Route 611 when the other vehicle, traveling south, crossed into the northbound lane to turn left and hit the motorcycle.


According to police, the suspect's vehicle is a silver Toyota Camry from 2015 to 2017.


Police say the vehicle has heavy damage, including the loss of its grille, a headlight assembly, and pieces of its front bumper.
