Judge is a 14-year-old yellow Labrador retriever who served the Allentown K-9 Unit from 2011 to 2018, according to WFMZ News. For eight years, Judge was also an arson dog with the Allentown Fire Department.
Earlier this week, sad, news was shared on his Facebook page with his more than 2,000 fans regarding his health.
The announcement stated the following:
Judge has fluid in his abdomen which is making it hard to breathe at times. He will not be with us much longer. Right now, he is a happy dog. He will let us know when it is time to move on. Pls keep him in your prayers. We are so very proud of everything he accomplished in his life. He is incredibly special and incredibly loved not only by us, but by all of you.
The city of Allentown made a request to rename Dixon Street Dog Park after Judge. According to the director of Allentown Parks, Recreation & Trails, the park on the northeast corner of the Dixon Street-Mack Boulevard intersection will now be known as "Judge Memorial Dog Park."
A very special K9:
Judge has done some amazing things. In 2016, Judge won Arson Dog of the Year for the American Humane Hero Dog Awards. He was even made spokes-pup for getting oxygen masks donated to pets all over the Lehigh Valley.
According to a WFMZ news report, Judge has also served as Grand Marshal at Pocono Raceway and participated in the puck drop at the PPL Center.
Our prayers are with Judge during his final days. He is a special pup to many in the Lehigh Valley.
