HANOVER TWP., Pa. - According to Channel 69 news, a sinkhole opened up in the driveway of a Northampton County home following a water main break on Wednesday and forced 18 people out of their homes.
The water main break was reported in the 1100 block of Brentwood Avenue in Hanover Township, according to Northampton County Communications.
Officials told WFMZ, that a sinkhole opened up in the driveway of a home on the 1100 block of Brentwood Avenue, causing structural issues along the street.
A portion of Brentwood Avenue has been closed to traffic, and Colonial Regional Police and fire crews remain on scene, according to officials.
Six houses were evacuated, according to WFMZ and the Red Cross is assisting the people who had to leave their homes.
No injuries have been reported, but a car parked in the driveway is partially lodged in a small sinkhole.Â
