Students hurt after crash involving a school bus on Route 22 in Philllipsburg

PHILLIPSBURG,N.J. - According to WFMZ, some students were taken to the hospital after a crash involving a school bus on Route 22 in Phillipsburg, Warren County on Tuesday afternoon.


The accident took place in the eastbound lanes of Route 22 at Route 677/Morris Street, according to the New Jersey Department of Transportation where it was posted on X.

A school bus transporting 22 first and second graders in Phillipsburg was hit by a vehicle on Route 22 Tuesday afternoon, according to a message from the Phillipsburg School District superintendent.


There is no word yet on what led up to the crash, or the condition of the driver of the other vehicle, according to the WFMZ.


Any students with injuries were evaluated and transported to the hospital by the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, according to the message from the district.


According to the superintendent, all injuries seem to be minor at the moment.


The cause of the accident remains under investigation.


The district's superintendent stated, "A special thank you to all the first responders, including the Phillipsburg Emergency Squad, Phillipsburg Fire Department and Phillipsburg Police Department. It was a very well-coordinated effort"
