Emergency dispatchers first reported the fire just before 8 am.

Eharth told 69 News, "We had two firefighters also get transported to local hospitals for minor injuries." He said the firefighters are expected to be OK.

Crews responding to the early-morning fire struck three alarms, calling for additional help.

"So that was everybody in the city was called to report. We also had mutual aid companies respond to assist," Eharth said.

Eharth told Channel 69 News the fire started in the middle of a rowhome but was contained quickly to one unit.

One woman said she's lived in the home for years and called 911 when she saw smoke.

Those who reside at the home are now displaced. The Red Cross is assisting.

Nearby properties were not affected.

Neighbors told 69 News they were shaken up but glad it wasn't anything worse.

"There's a lot of exhaustion but we got through it," Eharth said.

The Allentown Fire Marshal will investigate where and how the fire started.
