Update: Elon Musk said that a "massive" cyberattack had delayed his X Spaces interview with Trump.
"There appears to be a massive DDOS attack on 𝕏. Working on shutting it down," Musk posted 18 minutes after the scheduled start time for the interview.
"Worst case, we will proceed with a smaller number of live listeners and post the conversation later," he said.
Trump announced on his conservative social media platform, Truth Social, that he will be interviewed live by Elon Musk at 8 p.m. ET.
This marks a significant return for Trump to X, previously known as Twitter, since he was banned from the site after the Jan. 6, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol. Trump was reinstated in late 2022 but chose not to become active on the site again, despite having 88 million followers.
Musk endorsed Trump following the July 13 assassination attempt against the former president.
Recently, Musk has been spreading misinformation about voting and elections on his X feed.
